Annual Salary Range (based on education and credentialed teaching experience): $54,166.00 - $109,666.00.
Representation: Unit IX – Non-Senate Instructional American Federation of Teachers

The Preuss School at UC San Diego (http://preuss.ucsd.edu/) is a charter middle and high school dedicated to providing a rigorous college-prep education for low-income scholars who will become the first in their families to graduate from college. As a department within UC San Diego Academic Affairs, The Preuss School also serves as a model school to study and develop best practices in the preparation of low-income, urban scholars for college admission.

Under the supervision of the Principal, The Preuss School teachers are focused on the attainment of the California Standards for the teaching profession:
a. Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning;
b. Creating and Maintaining Effective Environment for Student Learning;
c. Understanding and Organizing Subject Matter for Student Learning;
d. Planning Instruction and Designing Learning Experiences for All Students;
e. Assessing Student for Learning;
f. Developing as a Professional Educator.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Required - Bachelor's degree with emphasis in the appropriate field.
Required - Current California Teaching Credential - English
Required - California Teaching Credential – Clear Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development (CLAD) Certificate or equivalent authorization.
Required - Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) compliance.
Required - Applicants must pass Live Scan background check and Tuberculosis (TB) screening.

Preferred qualifications

Preferred - Experience in teaching English
Preferred - Bilingual in Spanish

    30-day Emergency Substitute Teaching Credential does not qualify.
