Position description

The Department of Radiology at UC San Diego (http://radiology.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The department is seeking full-time faculty member(s) to participate as a Breast Imaging faculty member.

Candidates are expected to participate fully in all the clinical activities of the division and will be responsible for interpreting mammogram, breast US and MRI, image guided breast interventions, molecular breast imaging, lymphatic imaging and diagnostic radiology. The selected candidate(s) will teach fellows, residents, medical students, and visiting scholars and participate in division educational and administrative activities.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

    Candidates must have an MD or DO (or equivalent), board certification/eligibility in radiology. Candidates must also have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

    The ideal candidate must have demonstrated academic productivity and scholarship and exemplary clinical care and teaching in the field of breast imaging.

Preferred qualifications

    Completion of a Breast Imaging or Women's Imaging fellowship is preferred.
