Position description

Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is conducting an open search for Project Scientists (non-tenured, Assistant, Associate or Full level). At UC San Diego, Project Scientists are academic researchers who are expected to make significant and creative contributions to a research team but are not necessarily leaders of the research team. They are not required to carry out independent research or develop an independent research reputation but will publish and carry out research or creative programs with supervision by a member of the Professor or Professional Research series. University and public service are encouraged but not required and they do not have formal teaching responsibilities. Appointments and duration vary depending on the length of the research project and availability of funding. Research topics include but not limited to pharmacological data, pharmaceutical sciences, neglected tropical disease studies, parasitology sciences, toxicology, cannabinoid sciences, computational infrastructure, analytical chemistry, pharmaco-vigilance, Mitochondrial structure and function, microbiome science, food science, metabolomics, aging, natural products, computational mass spectrometry, cardiovascular disease, autophagy, and/or clinical trial data analysis.

Review of applications will commence on June 14, 2021 and will be ongoing based on the needs of Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on published University of California pay scales. Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

    Doctorate degree or its equivalent, including but not limited to PhD, or PharmD, or its field of study.
    Ability to make significant and creative contributions to a research team.

    Publish and carry out research or creative programs with supervision by a member of the Professor or Professional Research series.

    Experience in research topics include but not limited to pharmacological data, pharmaceutical sciences, neglected tropical disease studies, parasitology sciences, toxicology, cannabinoid sciences, computational infrastructure, analytical chemistry, pharmaco-vigilance, Mitochondrial structure and function, microbiome science, food science, metabolomics, aging, natural products, computational mass spectrometry, cardiovascular disease, autophagy, and/or clinical trial data analysis.
