The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics is seeking Pediatric Cardiac Electrophysiology Physician who will join a world-class team of pediatric cardiologists at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego.
This 524-bed non-profit pediatric care facility dedicated to excellence in care, research, and teaching serves as a major regional tertiary care hospital for children. The Division of Pediatric Cardiology consists of thirty faculty with depth in the full range of cardiac subspecialties and two experienced cardiac surgeons who are board certified in pediatric cardiovascular surgery. There is a CVICU with 24/7 staffing by 7 cardiac intensivists and a cardiac inpatient unit totaling 32 beds. Annual program volumes include about 400 cardiac surgeries, over 600 cardiac catheterizations, more than 18,000 echocardiograms and outpatient visits. The Division has excelled in every aspect of its clinical mission, and strives to provide culturally competent care for children and families.
The candidate's primary clinical duties will include participation in the full range of the electrophysiology service, including inpatient and outpatient consultations, electrophysiology and pacemaker clinics, catheterization-based procedures, interpretation of diagnostic tests, among other responsibilities. Additionally, the candidate will have a portion of clinical time devoted to general cardiology outpatient clinic. Clinic sites may include satellite offices outside of the Rady main campus. The candidate will share in electrophysiology night/weekend call and also have a small portion of the overall general cardiology night call. The candidate will also participate in the training of fellows, residents, and medical students and foster an environment of equity and inclusion.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate of Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD or equivalent and must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates must be Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics and have sub-board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Cardiac Electrophysiology (IBHRE- Pediatric).
Candidates with excellent skills in clinical care and teaching, and experience in research are preferred. The preferred candidate(s) will also have recently completed advanced pediatric electrophysiology training. Spanish fluency is preferred but not required.
