Position description

The Department of Anesthesiology (http://anes-som.ucsd.edu/) at the University of California San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking a general anesthesiologist faculty.

Candidates must have a MD, MD/PhD, or PhD degree. Candidates with an MD must be board eligible/certified in anesthesiology. Candidates with an MD must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the California Medical Board.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
