Position description

The Division of Endocrinology in the Department of Medicine ( at University of California, San Diego, is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body is actively seeking candidates with a strong commitment to teaching, and program development/quality improvement for the position of Research Scientist in Endocrinology.

The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism is seeking an experienced interdisciplinary quantitative scientist who can integrate diverse approaches (e.g. computer science, mathematics, computational biology, machine learning, molecular modeling, etc.) to address current biomedical challenges in cancer, 3D genome structure-function, inflammation, metabolism, and endocrine diseases.

The successful candidate will function as an independent investigator and have complete responsibility for their research program. The research will be broadly aimed at understanding transcriptional regulation and the unexplored roles of nuclear architecture.

Candidates must have a PhD in Biological Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences, or Cellular Biology and must have a minimum of four years as a Postdoctoral Scholar.

Appointment will be at Assistant or Associate Research Scientist level based on background and years of experience.
