Position description

The Department of Radiation Medicine and Applied Sciences (http://radonc.ucsd.edu) at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to join a growing research team. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will make significant and creative contributions to research projects involving the application of artificial intelligence in Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics. Although the Post-Doctoral Fellow is expected to work independently under the guidance of a faculty member with an independent research program, the incumbent is not required to develop an independent research program.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in physics, medical physics, engineering computer science, or another closely related field. Prior experience in radiotherapy physics is not necessary, and candidates with excellent doctoral training in any specialty are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate must be motivated to solve technical challenges and possess excellent writing and communication skills; the position will involve writing papers and giving presentations.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with strong programming skills and experience with MATLAB, C++ and/or Python. Experience with medical imaging is also desirable.
