Position description

Faculty Position in Cardiovascular Medicine. The Department of Medicine at University of California, San Diego, Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is actively recruiting faculty with an interest in academia in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine.

Positions involve clinical care, research, teaching, and some local travel.

Candidates must have an MD and be board certified/eligible in Cardiovascular Diseases and must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Cardiovascular Disease training in a ACGME accredited programs is required.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
