Description

The Department of Psychology (www.psy.ucsd.edu) within the Division of Social Sciences at UC San Diego is conducting an open search for Project Scientists (non-tenured, Assistant, Associate or Full level) within various specializations.

At UC San Diego, Project Scientists are academic researchers who are expected to make significant and creative contributions to a research team, but are not necessarily leaders of the research team. They are not required to carry out independent research or develop an independent research reputation but will publish and carry out research or creative programs with supervision by a member of the Professor or Professional Research series. Project Scientists may not serve as a Principal Investigator but may serve as Co-Principal Investigators with members of the Professor or Research Scientist series. University and public service are encouraged but not required and they do not have formal teaching responsibilities. Appointments and duration vary depending on the length of the research project and availability of funding.

The Department of Psychology at UC San Diego consistently ranks among the top experimental psychology programs in the country, with a collaborative and innovative research base spanning many areas of psychology such as cognitive psychology, cognitive & behavioral neuroscience, developmental psychology, sensation & perception and social psychology. Members of our department are often affiliated with The Neurosciences Graduate Program at UC San Diego. We are committed to academic excellence, equity, diversity, and inclusion for faculty, staff, and the student body.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Appointment level is dependent on academic experience, scholarly achievements, and the needs of Psychology.

Preferred Qualifications: Postdoctoral or equivalent experience, commitment to a research program, experience or interest in mentoring/training, and commitment to building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on published UC San Diego pay scales. Applications (CV, Statement of Research and Statement of Contributions to Diversity) must be submitted via the UCSD AP On-Line Recruit submission website at: https://apol-recruit.ucsd.edu/JPF02417.
