Description
Faculty Position in Endocrinology. The Division of Endocrinology in the Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu/) at University of California, San Diego, is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body is actively recruiting candidates with a strong commitment to teaching, clinical investigation, and program development/quality improvement.
The practice may entail inpatient coverage for some weekends and outpatient coverage for UCSD affiliated sites. For clinically focused applicants, the Division is seeking an endocrinologist with a strong interest in the care of patients with diabetes or other endocrine conditions in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Candidates must have a MD, MD/PhD, or PhD degree. Candidates with an MD must be board eligible/certified in endocrinology and metabolism. Candidates with an MD must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
For research focused applicants, candidates must have received a rigorous post-doctoral training, demonstrate the ability to perform independent research and publish in top-ranked scientific journals.
A proven track record of extramural funding is highly preferred.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
