The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine in the Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu) at University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body is actively recruiting for full-time academic faculty at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor ranks with a primary focus in research and education.
Our physician support and dedication to teaching, research and clinical excellence has created multiple faculty and contractual staff positions available to support UC San Diego Health locations: UCSD Hillcrest and La Jolla, CA hospitals, as well as, our affiliated hospitals throughout San Diego, Riverside and Imperial Counties.
The Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep medicine program support and research facilities are exceptional. Candidates with research experience in one or more of the following areas are preferred and are encouraged to apply:
1) High altitude adaptation
2) Pulmonary vascular biology
3) Genetic epidemiology
Candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD and/or PhD in health science or related fields. Candidates with an MD must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates with an MD must also have board certification/eligibility within at least one specialty: Pulmonary, Critical Care, and/or Sleep Medicine.
The appropriate series and appointment will be at the Associate or Full Professor Rank based on candidate's experience and qualifications. Series will include Ladder Rank, In-Residence with secured extramural funding, Clinical X, HS Clinical and Adjunct.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
