Excellence Search for Diverse Faculty in Health Sciences Initiative

The Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences (https://medschool.ucsd.edu/vchs/) is committed to academic, scientific, and clinical excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body invites applications for clinicians and researchers.

This position represents an Excellence Search for Diverse Faculty in Health Sciences initiative which seeks to recruit early-career faculty to UC San Diego Health Sciences. This program seeks to build a more diverse faculty and aims to foster a diverse and inclusive community of scholars to enhance our academic and research missions. In addition to the highest standards of scholarship, teaching, and professional activity, the successful candidate(s) for this position will have potential or demonstrated contributions to a climate that supports equity, inclusion, and diversity. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to helping shape and expand the University’s diversity initiatives (http://diversity.ucsd.edu/).

Candidates must have an PharmD or DO.

Candidates with a PharmD must have completed postgraduate residency or fellowship, have experience in clinical service and teaching and be eligible for and/or have licensure in pharmacy in the State of California. Candidates must possess the academic and professional experience to qualify for an appointment in the School of Pharmacy. Board certification or eligibility in a specialty area and/or Advanced Practice Pharmacist (APh) is preferred.

Candidates with a DO must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates must possess the academic and professional experience to qualify for an appointment in one of the School of Medicine departments. Board certification or eligibility in a health sciences or related field is required.

The appropriate series and appointment will be at the Associate or Full Professor Rank based on candidate's experience and qualifications. Series will include Ladder Rank, In-Residence with secured extramural funding, Clinical X, HS Clinical and Adjunct.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
