Description

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) and the University of California, San Diego are committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body. We therefore invite applications for an Excellence search at the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) level from candidates in all areas Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering. In addition to the highest standards of scholarship, teaching, and professional activity, the successful candidate(s) for this position will have potential or demonstrated contributions to promote a climate that supports equity, inclusion, and diversity.

The required job duties include developing an excellent research program, teaching university students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and service activities. As such, successful faculty candidates will demonstrate potential for teaching excellence and the highest standards of scholarship and professional activity in their research area. In addition, successful candidates must be committed to increasing diversity and inclusion and have a desire to participate in the School's diversity initiatives.

A Ph.D. degree is required in the area of Engineering or a related discipline at the time of application.

Rank of position is at the Assistant Professor level.

Salary: Level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications; salary based on UC pay scales and market conditions.
