Description

The University of California, San Diego, Department of Surgery, Division of Breast Surgery (http://oncology.ucsd.edu/), Moore’s UCSD Cancer Center and Comprehensive Breast Health Center (https://health.ucsd.edu/specialties/cancer/) are committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and seek to recruit a fellowship trained breast surgeon with a focus on clinical care and a commitment to breast cancer research.

The faculty member will be expected to devote 90% of their time to clinical care with some flexibility depending upon the candidates overall portfolio of skills.

Candidates must be experienced surgeons in breast surgery with extensive knowledge and experience in clinical trials.

Candidates must have demonstrated excellence in clinical care of patients with breast diseases, both benign and malignant. Candidates must also have demonstrated experience in breast cancer clinical research.

Candidates must have an MD and be board certified or eligible in General Surgery. Candidates must have successful completion of a fellowship in breast surgery or extensive experience in multidisciplinary breast care.

Candidates must have or be able eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates must have an established history in being able to build into the community both with clinical practice, and clinical trials.

Candidates with experience with the Veteran's Administration is preferred.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
