The University of California, San Diego, Department of Surgery, Division of Otolaryngology ( is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and seek a board certified or eligible otolaryngologist(s) with experience in general otolaryngology to join our Division.

This is a full-time non-tenured faculty position. This position includes a commitment to research and education. Focusing on participation in patient care, medical student teaching, resident supervision, on-call, research and projects leading to expansion of the clinical service.

The faculty member will be expected to devote up to 50-90% of their time to clinical care depending on clinical and research skills and mix.

Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • MD and board certification or eligibility in Otolaryngology.

  • Candidate must also be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

  • Successful completion or anticipated completion of an AHNS approved fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology

Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Series will be determined by the successful candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
