THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SAN DIEGO, DEPARTMENT OF PEDIATRICS (https://medschool.ucsd.edu/som/pediatrics/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and seeks a project scientist with a background in Biology, Molecular Biology, and Clinical Research of immunologic or allergic disorders.
Candidates are expected to have extensive experience in tissue culture, human cell experiments including RNA, DNA, and protein manipulation, and some familiarity with bioinformatics is preferred. Candidate will help to supervise multiple translational and clinical projects related to pediatric eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders including clinical trial work and limited interaction with patients.
Candidates are required to have a PhD in Biology, Molecular Medicine, Immunology, or a related discipline OR an MD with an extensive background in basic science research and clinical trial work. Late career postdoctoral fellows joining to transition into a career as an Assistant Project Scientist will also be considered.
Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist as determined by the successful candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
