Position description

The Department of Sociology at UC San Diego has occasional openings for temporary non-tenure track lecturers (Unit 18) throughout the academic year.

Courses in which lecturers are typically needed may include undergraduate lower and upper division lecture courses. The full list of courses offered by the Department of Sociology can be found in the online course catalog.

Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. in Sociology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the course(s) to which they are applying to teach. Applicants must have degree and experience requirements by the time of appointment. Applicants with teaching experience are preferred; experience can be as a teaching assistant. Appointments may be full or part-time, for 1, 2, or 3 quarters in duration. In the application, specify the courses or academic area(s) for which you are qualified to teach.
