The Department of Family Medicine and Public Health (FMPH) at the University of California, San Diego's School of Medicine (http://fmph.ucsd.edu), is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and has occasional openings for temporary non-tenure track lecturers (Unit 18) throughout the year.
Family Medicine and Public Health has approximately 130 salaried faculty, over 220 staff, and seven divisions: Behavioral Medicine, Biostatistics & Bioinformatics, Epidemiology, Family Medicine, Global Health, Health Policy, and Preventive Medicine. Clinical care in Family Medicine Primary Care, Sports Medicine, Integrative Medicine, and Integrated Mental and Behavioral Health is provided across many clinic locations and two main hospitals. The Department has strong collaborative research programs facilitated by Research Centers of Excellence focused on Cardiovascular Epidemiology and Prevention, Women's Health, Cancer and Energetics, Tobacco Control, Health Promotion and Equity, Wireless and Population Health Systems, and Integrative Medicine.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Public Health or related field, a Dr.P.H., or other doctoral degree in a related field completed by the date of appointment, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with research or practice experience relevant to the course(s) to which they are applying to teach.
Appointees must comply with Department and University instructions, deadlines, and policies regarding course scheduling and are expected to be flexible with regards to the scheduling of their classes to accommodate the limited space availability for classrooms during standard business hours. Appointments may be part or full time, for 1, 2, or 3 classes per quarter and 1, 2, or 3 quarters in duration. In the application, specify the courses or academic area(s) in which you are qualified to teach.
