Position description

The Department of Physics within the Division of Physical Sciences at UCSD is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body, and invites applications from qualified individuals for an Assistant Project Scientist to join the Particle Physics research group. Areas of interest include: electroweak symmetry breaking in the early Universe, dark matter, mechanisms of baryogenesis, the strong CP problem, collider phenomenology, and search strategies for gravitational wave interferometers. All positions are subject to availability of funding.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in physics or a related field with postdoctoral experience working at the intersection of theoretical particle physics and cosmology. The candidate is expected to be an excellent leader and team player with the ability to work independently and to have the ability to transfer knowledge to students and postdocs in the group.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
