The Environmental Studies minor program with John Muir College at UC San Diego is looking for Lecturers with teaching experience in Environmental Studies, from a variety of perspectives: e.g., natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and policy. Several non-tenure track, temporary lectureships will be available for the 2019-2020 academic year (if needed, applicants may be considered for the current 2018-19 academic year). Appointments may vary from one quarter to three quarters. Instructors may teach variable courses within the Environmental Studies minor program including, but not limited to, Intro to Environmental Studies (ENVR 30), Environmental Law (ENVR 110), Urban Ecology (ENVR 102), Coastal Ecology (ENVR 120), Wilderness and Human Values Workshop (ENVR 141)

The successful applicant should have:
· M.A. degree in Environmental Studies, Ecology or other related field (conferred by June 30, 2019)
· Solid teaching experience in a University setting in Environmental Studies, from a variety of perspectives: e.g., natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and policy, depending upon which courses have positions open
· Demonstrated accomplishments in areas contributing to diversity, equity and inclusion, and a desire to play a leadership role in advancing UC San Diego’s commitment to achieving excellence and diversity

As part of John Muir College, The Environmental Studies minor program is unique among the minors housed in the colleges, in that it offers its own courses each quarter. In addition, the program accepts courses offered by various departments as minor electives.
