Position description

Faculty Position in General Internal Medicine. The Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu) at University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is actively recruiting Academic Physicians to join the full-time ambulatory clinical practice at UCSD General Internal Medicine.

Qualified candidates with an interest in Internal Medicine, improving primary care and being a team player are encouraged to apply. Candidates adaptable to new and emerging technologies, interested in chronic disease management and research/scholarly activities are also encouraged to apply.

Candidates must have an MD and/or PhD with an emphasis relevant to Internal Medicine. Candidates must be eligible for California medical license. Candidates with an MD must be Board Eligibility/Board Certification in Internal Medicine.

Candidates with leadership skills, outstanding communication, interpersonal skills and demonstrated clinical and teaching excellence are preferred.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
