Position description

The Department of Psychiatry at the UC San Diego School of Medicine is committed to academic excellence and diversity within our faculty, staff, and student body. The Department (http://psychiatry.ucsd.edu) is currently seeking psychiatrists to provide mental health care and training in a variety of settings, including Inpatient, Outpatient, Psychiatric Emergency, Consultation Liaison, and embedded mental health services, e.g., within the UCSD Moores Cancer Center, HIV/AIDS Unit, Burn Unit, and other programs providing patient care for neuropsychiatric disorders. Applicants must hold an M.D., D.O., or Ph.D. degree, or equivalent. Applicants with an M.D. or D.O. must be eligible for licensure in the State of California, and be either Board-Eligible or Board-Certified in General Psychiatry.

Applicants with a Ph.D. must have graduated from an APA-accredited Doctoral Program which includes completion of an APA-accredited internship, and be eligible for licensure as a Clinical Psychologist in the State of California. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong track record in clinical care, teaching, and an interest or experience in clinical research.
